In a news article depicting just how many international projects are being produced in New Zealand, a small blurb regarding Power Rangers was mentioned:
In a previously written article, news was announced that the 26th season of the Power Rangers television series entitled, Power Rangers Beast Morphers, will be in not only the Hobsonville Point area, but Glen Eden through May 2019. Glen Eden, as many know, is the area where Studio West is housed. This may also mean that Studio West is not free to use until July, using June as the buffer between projects to set clear out and set up.
However, if the show were to be contracted to use Studio West until July of 2019, it is the longest contract that the Power Rangers has had with the production space – it is usually through May of 2019. Last year’s season, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel, extended it’s contracted stay by a slight margin (although still in the May 2018 window) due to the 25th season anniversary episode “Dimensions in Danger” – an episode that brought the return of many fan favorite Power Rangers over the past 25 years, all the while expanding the lore that is Power Rangers.
There is still no word on whether or not Power Rangers Beast Morphers’s theme, adapted from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, will be one season or two. Before Power Rangers was bought by Hasbro, Saban Brands and Nickelodeon extended their partnership with Power Rangers through 2021.
The Power Rangers are going full on “beast mode” with its 26th season of Power Rangers Beast Morphers, which releases on Nickelodeon in 2019. Featuring an all-new cast of heroes and villains, Power Rangers Beast Morphers will expand the Power Rangers universe with tactical leather suits, ‘Beast Bot’ sidekicks and elevated battle footage. Set in the future, a secret agency combines a newly discovered substance called “Morph–X” with animal DNA to create the Power Rangers Beast Morphers team. The Rangers must fight off an evil sentient computer virus bent on taking over the source of all Ranger power, the Morphin Grid itself.
Power Rangers Beast Morphers will air on Nickelodeon in early 2019 at 12pm ET. Power Rangers Beast Morphers stars Rorrie Travis (Devon / Red Ranger), Jasmeet Baduwalia (Ravi / Blue Ranger), Jackie Scislowski (Zoey / Yellow Ranger) and newly announced cast members Colby James Strong (Blaze), Abraham Rodriguez (Nate), Kristina Ho (Betty), Liana Ramirez (Roxy), and Cosme Flores (Ben).
