Saban Brands has hired Zofia Karpinska, of 3DD Entertainment in the UK, as director of distribution working out of London for the Eastern European markets. It has recently been revealed that Saban Brands had started their own distribution unit and had stated that soon positions would be filled for their units for Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. Karpinska will be working under Fredric Soulie, Senior Vice President of Global Distribution.

Power Rangers owner Saban Brands has hired an exec from UK-based 3DD Entertainment to take up a new role at the company focusing on sales into emerging markets.
Zofia Karpinska has been named Saban’s London-based director of distribution for emerging markets, reporting to Frederic Soulie, senior VP of global distribution, and Leila Ouledcheikh, VP of distribution for EMEA.
The newly created role will see Karpinska focus on content deal TV negotiations, digital distribution and home entertainment sales for the Eastern European market.
Karpinska has worked in progressive roles at London-based 3DD Entertainment where, most recently, she was head of sales and coproduction.
Saban is currently developing preschool series Luna Petunia with Montréal-based Cirque du Soleil Média, the production arm of the celebrated theatre group.
It is also producing a modern adaptation of The Popples, a 1980s Franco-Japanese animated series, alongside French production companies Zagtoon and Method Animation. It has already been picked up by French broadcast group Lagardère and Netflix.
